New project. Install Mac tiger 10.4.5 on my PC. Before I buy it online, does anyone have a copy of it...possibly...you know...lying around. It can be done only with this version though and I am bored with windows, so now, in theory my computer will have 4 hard drives. 2 in raid 0, 1 for back up and 1 with Mac. Or i could parition the backup one in half so that if windows gets fucked up i can go in mac and download alll the necdesarry shit and be saved in FAT32 and transfer it to the other hds.. dun dun dun..anyway, hook me up

finished my RAID 0 setup with my harddrives today.

RAID 0 implements a striped disk array, the data is broken down into blocks and each block is written to a separate disk drive.I/O performance is greatly improved by spreading the I/O load across many channels and drives, Best performance is achieved when data is striped across multiple controllers with only one drive per controller. No parity calculation overhead is involved

Basically breaks down to breaking data across 2 harddrives and accessing them only having to pull half the data, thus making your overall performance quite faster. Pulling huge graphics up, movies, compression, games, loading windows, etc. I have the 4th fastest hard drive setup in this group of hundrerds i talk with. I guess thats badass assuming the retrail price on the harddrives were 400 bucks before my old bestbuy hookup

If anyone cares I used the Western Digital Raptors; 74 GB 10,000k spin 2.99ms latency drives, 16kb stripe. Badass. just one more step to my machine. for the results i had a 213mbs burst speed and 120mbs write avg. MOst of your drives do around 50mbs average write to give you a scale.

f.e.a.r is a badass game, im not much into first person shooters, yet this one has caught my attention. Its much like doom 3 with the instant action and sneaky shit that when playing at night scares yo ass. The system requirements for the game are incrediblyyy high, i think too high. But if you get a chance grab ahold of any game made my the Sierra engine, it is the most interactive enviroment and badass. The AI in the game definetly is somewhat advanced although the game wasnt programmed fully right. Sometimes when the guys run behind corners to come up behind you...they just disappear, which sucks. Anyway thats my 2 cents. I get tired of WoW so ive been buying some other games, got ahold of battlefield 2 as well, funny how people claim this game to be the most system demanding requiremtns yet i can run it ata higher resolution moreso than with f.e.a.r, might be some anti-aliasing feature or shading shit...Ill find it out

haha so i just got raped. My board doesn't support overclocking in the BIOS unless i made a custom BIOS in which i dont have time for nor would want to. SO this sucks. Apparently since i got the deal through intel, most manufacturers make their board's BIOS only overclock certain things like ram. I wish i didnt get raped. Makes me want to sell this rig and get a new one. Not becuase it sucks, but because it hinders my computer learning. Once i got my heat under control and my new cooling system on, i get raped. i hate life lol
